Web Collective Launches Local Business Directory
The City of Kirkland, WA wanted a way to connect people with their local business with the goal of getting people to shop locally.
Web Collective worked with city staff and a large stakeholder group made up of local business leaders to envision what is now Kirkland First. We worked in conjunction with a Kirkland marketing firm to develop the brand, messaging and website.
The process of gathering input form so many people is something we like doing. It is a real challenge to coalesce so much input and opinion into a vision that everyone can get behind and it's something we are good at.
The Kirkland First website is a business directory first and foremost. Over time the directory will grow as more and more local businesses are added, giving consumers a deeper resource for locating the service or product they are looking for.
Web Collective was particularly well suited to work on this project because of many of the owner's own passion. Several of the owners are or have been involved in efforts to promote local living economies, particularly through BALLE Seattle.
