University of Washington Chooses Plone and Web Collective
The UW is standardizing on Plone and has hired Web Collective to help with the transition.
The University of Washington Marketing Department has chosen Plone as the content management system for many of the primary public pages of the UW Web site. The UW is partnering with the Web Collective to roll out the CMS under the http://www.washington.edu domain starting later this year.
There has been a growing Plone presence in a number of departments on campus. Marketing cited that fact, plus Plone's flexibility, scalability, commitment to standards, accessibility and cost effectiveness, as reasons for the selection. The ease of use for casual Web editors, and Plone's open-source philosophy, also were cited as important considerations.
The Web Collective was selected to assist with the project because of its professional team, experience with Plone and understanding of -- and commitment to - the project.
